The idea of home and hospitality has always been close to heart. So we craft each vacation home with a thoughtful blend of warmth and comfort that invites you to slow down and stay awhile.
We spent the fall months falling in love with winding back roads through the state forest that led the way to Glenwood Cabin — a quaint, tucked-away little piece of heavenly solitude.
We discovered an old chalet in need of a refresh, and we went to work to create our first vacation home — Nelly's Chalet.
Our tiny house adventure paved the way into home remodeling, with the intent of creating unique vacation home experiences.
Our tiny guest house was the first renovation and design project that Daniel & I did together.
We’ve learned a great deal about renovation and design with each home we’ve added to our vacation collection. We hope you’ll enjoy this little stroll through our story, and maybe even be inspired to allow yourself to rest, relax, and dream.
The idea of home and hospitality has always been close to heart. So in 2021, as the world was recovering from a lack of social interaction, Daniel decided to convert a shed into a tiny guest house in our backyard.

away from home!
welcome to home
In October, we converted a large shop into a spacious six-bedroom unique vacation home experience and called it the Chez Moi.
The Hygge House was an impressive transformation. From an old run-down house, we created a home with vibrant personality.
Our vacation homes quickly became guest favorites, and Daniel decided it was time to leave his career in law enforcement. In March, we turned our full attention on hosting guests and managing our vacation homes.
In the spring, we completed Nelly's Oasis, a renovated garage that is both charming and unique!
Our little guest house introduced us to our business partner, who gave us the ability to scale our remodel-to-hosting endeavors.
began in this little shed, as we mapped out the floor plan, ordered cabinets, hung drywall, picked paint colors…all the things to make this a cozy space.
The basement was almost impassable due to the moist moldy air. The property was essentially a rainforest. Dust and what looked like century-old cobwebs clung to any- and everything it could. And this was our first real life experience with a home makeover.
It was perfectly tucked away off the winding back roads that meandered through the Appomattox-Buckingham state forest — truly a quaint little piece of heavenly solitude.
In the spring, we completed Nelly's Oasis, a renovated garage flowing with unique charm.
this space was just a dusty old garage with cracked concrete floors and two of those hazy yellow garage lights that held years of dust and dead bugs.

because the first time I saw this property, I was convinced the house was going to fall over. It was Daniel who saw the potential in this little house. But I'm so glad we took this one on. From an old run-down house emerged an immensely cozy space with vibrant personality.
But now, it is an impressively spacious six-bedroom vacation home that's perfect for hosting large groups, just minutes away from the Blue Ridge Parkway.
"Daniel’s place was awesome! The house was perfect for our group of 20! The location was very peaceful and quiet - it was very relaxing. The Pickleball Court was also a nice touch! Having the grills and fire pit was also nice and the kids absolutely loved the downstairs game room/sleep area! ... We would definitely stay here again!"

"This Virginia mountain getaway was everything we could have asked for. Perfectly described and photographed, this spacious barndominium provided exactly what my friends and I were looking for for our vacation. Private, peaceful and very close to amenities!"
-Theodore
"We felt right at home after setting foot in the Hygge house. Beautiful cabin, which lies peacefully next to a small creek in the middle of a forest. Very clean, spacious, and with lovely personal touches. For anyone enjoying a Scandinavian type of stay, look no further. We would’ve stayed longer if it weren’t for the fact we had to continue our East Coast roadtrip." - Jelle
"We can't express how amazing our stay was! From the moment you walk in you feel right at home. The space was brand new, so clean, decorated beautifully, and so cozy. ... We have already suggested this space to friends and family and are planning to return again soon! If I could give them 10 stars I would!!!"
