the story
We spent the fall months falling in love with winding back roads through the colorful Appomattox-Buckingham state forest that led the way to Glenwood Cabin — a quaint, tucked-away little piece of heavenly solitude.

Through the process, we came across an old chalet in need of some updates, and went to work to create our first vacation home — Nelly's Chalet.

Our plan was to develop a luxury tiny house experience, but we faced a pivot in our plans and decided to focus on home renovation.

Our tiny guest house was the first renovation and design project that we did together.
The idea of home and hospitality has always been close to heart. So in 2021, as the world was recovering from a *lack* of social interaction, we decided to convert a shed into a tiny guest house in our backyard.
That tiny house constantly reminds us of the story of the five loaves and two fish that fed thousands. We’ve learned a great deal about home renovation with each home we’ve added to our vacation collection. We hope you’ll enjoy this little stroll through our story, and maybe even be inspired to let your own dreams become reality.

In October, we converted a large shop into a spacious six-bedroom unique vacation home experience and called it the Chez Moi.

The Hygge House was an impressive transformation. From an old run-down house, we created a home with vibrant personality.

With three vacation homes completed and booking non-stop, Daniel decided it was time to leave his career in law enforcement, and in March, vacation rental management became our full-time job!

In the spring, we completed Nelly's Oasis, a renovated garage that is both charming and unique!

Daniel was in law enforcement through the unrest of 2020 into 21. One of our favorite verses was in Matthew 11. It says, “come to me all who are weary…and I will give you rest.” Now, it’s a verse that has literally shaped our lifestyle, and it’s one we get to share with you. So, welcome! and...
A hallmark of the Pine and Loft vacation style is the use of warm natural elements throughout the design of each space.
