01 — the "tiny" house
Our little guest house introduced us to our business partner, who gave us the ability to scale our remodel-to-hosting endeavors.
began in this little shed, as we mapped out the floor plan, ordered cabinets, hung drywall, picked paint colors…all the things to make this a cozy space.
A love for transforming unique spaces
from the beginning
In 2022, we stepped into an old chalet that was on the brink of complete disrepair.
The basement was almost impassable due to the moist moldy air. The property was essentially a rainforest. Dust and what looked like century-old cobwebs clung to any- and everything it could. And this was our first real life experience with a home makeover.

It was perfectly tucked away off the winding back roads that meandered through the Appomattox-Buckingham state forest — truly a quaint little piece of heavenly solitude.
In the fall, we added a well-loved little cabin.
03 — glenwood cabin
In the spring, we completed Nelly's Oasis, a renovated garage flowing with unique charm.
this space was just a dusty old garage with cracked concrete floors and two of those hazy yellow garage lights that held years of dust and dead bugs.

our vacation homes quickly became guest favorites and Daniel decided it was time to leave his career in law enforcement.
In March, we turned our full attention on hosting guests and managing our vacation homes.

because the first time I saw this property, I was convinced the house was going to fall over. It was Daniel who saw the potential in this little house. But I'm so glad we took this one on. From an old run-down house emerged an immensely cozy space with vibrant personality.

But now, it is an impressively spacious six-bedroom vacation home that's perfect for hosting large groups, just minutes away from the Blue Ridge Parkway.
3,600 square feet of nearly unused warehouse space was daunting, to say the least.
07 — chez moi
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
We’ve walked into a lot of homes and spaces that were uninviting to say the least. But after every walk-through, what I love most about the renovation process is the ability to see the potential in a space, knowing that it can be something more than what it currently is — a space that is truly inviting.
Rest is an action. It’s an intentional choice to carve out space and time to just be still. Every design detail is chosen thoughtfully and intentionally so that every home in our getaway collection can be a place of beauty, where you can find rest.

Slow mornings, mountain breezes, good coffee and really great books.
These words of Jesus in Matthew 11 inspire us the most as we run our hospitality business. The promise of rest in him has carried us through many seasons, and we are grateful to share his promise in all that we do.
We spent the fall months falling in love with winding back roads through the state forest that led the way to Glenwood Cabin — a quaint, tucked-away little piece of heavenly solitude.

Our tiny guest house was the first renovation and design project that Daniel & I did together.
Since then, we’ve learned a great deal about renovation and design with each home we’ve added to our vacation collection. We hope you’ll enjoy this little stroll through our story, and maybe even feel inspired to allow yourself to rest, relax, and dream.
